The Power Of Thinking Positive

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Confidence and a positive self image is the center of being a salesman.
To be able to go out day after day and accept defeat after defeat to only get the occasional joy of making a deal, it takes a strong sense of self.

Confidence is what is projected to the world and is in many ways linked to and controlled by outside influences.
Your self image is how YOU see yourself. No one can tell you who you are and know when ever should, no one knows you like you do.

If you have a strong and positive self image it will reflect on your confidence and you will be able to meet each day with confidence.
If you have a weak or negative self image, your confidence is completely in the control of the outside world and especially in sales, the outside world is all but kind.

To be able to bravely meet each day you must work on your own self image. Their are millions of techniques to get to know yourself better and understand yourself. Most of which are very difficult and time consuming.

Two key tools to improve your self image
I have found that it is enough to find a target for yourself and with a little help of a little mantra you will go a long way.
Miami Beach
The first step is focusing your efforts
Focus yourself on a goal and do all in your might to accomplish it (In my post Learn to set goals I wrote about how to set and accomplish goals.)

When you are focused and know where you are going, you find a new sense of purpose and value. You know where you are going to be in 6 months, 12 months or 36 months.

The second part is based on the simplicity of our minds
Our minds has only the ability to hold one thought pattern at a time. Either a positive pattern or a negative pattern. The important thing is to fix our thoughts on a positive pattern and we will start to see the world in a different light.

By telling yourself that you like yourself you can start programming your mind to build you a stronger self image.

The first part of the mantra is:
“I like myself”

The world keeps telling you, you aren’t enough, you are bad and so on.
Telling yourself that you like yourself counteracts those thoughts.

The Second Part of the mantra is:
“I’m going to be happy today!”

Inputting this into your mind the first thing you do in the morning will keep it with you all day. You will meet challenges in a positive tone and look for solutions, not obstacles.

We all live with the fear and feeling that we don’t deserve to succeed, that we don’t deserve happiness and that we just aren’t worth it.
To help your mind their the simple line;

Part three of the mantra:
“I deserve happiness”

Will help you input a feeling that you actually do deserve positve things and honestly you do, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

The most horrible thing when you have a new idea, a new dream, a new goal, is that nagging voice in your head that tells you that you cannot do it. Sometimes that voice isn’t only in your head, it is all around you. People will always tell you that you can’t do this because of this and can’t do that because of those and so on.

Part four of the mantra is:

The full mantra goes:
“I like myself,
I’m going to be happy today!
I deserve happiness,
I like myself,
I’m going to be happy today!
I deserve happiness,
I like myself,
I’m going to be happy today!
I deserve happiness,

Cheering happy customers
Repeat it every morning and I promise you that it will start to make a difference in your life.

Good luck to you!

  1. Love the mantra Daniel. Some people might read articles like this and think they’re silly self-talk practices. But the reality is that they work and the people that practice such behavior are always more successful than those that don’t (see The Power of Positive Thinking, Psycho Cybernetics, etc)…Anyway, keep up the good work Daniel.

Thank you for visiting Marcus and thank you for leaving a comment.

      Surprisingly they do work.
I used to laugh when people used these. One day though I was ordered by my bosses to go through this mantra every day and tell them if it worked. So I did.

      And it did work.

Since then I have been a believer in self motivation.
