When I wrote my article Persistence In The Face Of Adversity it was because of the inspiration of reading books about personal development. Over the last few weeks I have been reading book after book on self help and success.
The book that touched me most was Million Dollar Habits
, By Brian Tracy.
It has really helped me increase my motivation and take a number of steps towards my personal goals.
What will you gain by reading this book?
Like many of the books in this industry it is very action oriented.
It basically lists all the habits you might need to become successful.
Brian has really worked on trying to create a flow in the book that goes from step one (or habit one) to step 2, 3 and so on. I have actually myself typed up a list of all the habits I plan to add to my repertoire over the next year, year and a half.
What is the difference between Million Dollar Habits and other books about self help and success?
Most books in the industry are very action oriented with action exercises and steps to take in order to change your mind set and set you on the path to success.
But never before have I seen such an easy list based book!
Like I said he literally lists everything you need to be successful.
Yes it will take a lot of work and there are a lot of things you have to change about your mindset and how you act, but with a bit of self discipline all you need to do is start at habit one, incorporate it into your daily routine until it is a habit and then move on to habit number 2.
What are the negative aspects of this book?
The one problem the book has is that it becomes very repetitive.
Once you have read the first 50 habits you see that they start popping up again and again.
This is something you see with a lot of Brian’s books. Often I get the feeling, if you have read one you have read them all.
He has a habit of repeating himself in every book saying the same things.
Now don’t get me wrong, most of it is important enough to be said over and over again, and in every book you find new tips and advice that help you improve. Reading a Brian Tracy book is never a waste of time, but very quickly you start feeling “been there, done that”.
Who is the ideal person for Million Dollar Habits?
Well, if you are reading this blog I would say you are ideal!
If you are looking for a formula for success, easy steps and activities that will almost guarantee you a step up in your career, than you are ideal.
This book deals in tips and advice that can change your life, if you let it.
Where can you buy Million Dollar Habits?
I buy most of my books through Amazon.com as I find that they have a great selection, great customer service and their website is great at giving advice on other books you might like based on books you have bought before and those on your wish list.
My advice is to buy and read Million Dollar Habits
as it will give you some sure-fire tips that will help you find your path to success.
Thanks and good luck.
